I Spytihnev. - Czech prince of the dynasty P�emyslovc�. Son of the first Christian ruler of Bohemia Borivoj I. and later canonized Ludmila. Spytihnev is considered the founder of the Prague Castle.

The Czech princely throne sat Spytihnev after the demise of the Great Moravian ruler Svatopluk sometime in the year 894. His advent was �ech detachment from dependence on Great Moravia. Spytihnev politically focused on the eastern kingdom, as evidenced by a record in the annals Fuldsk�ch, according to which the Czech ruler visited the Reichstag in Regensburg and pay tribute to the kings v�chodofransk�mu Arnulf. Spytihnev continued his father's foundation activities. Strategically advantageous place nad Vltavou, where Bo�ivoj built church of the Virgin Mary, fortified and chose as its new headquarters.
