Christopher Harant z Pol�ic and Bezdru�ic (1564 - 21. 6. 1621)

- Czech diplomat, explorer, warrior and music composer. Versatile personality of the late 15th and 16th centuries.

A member of an ancient family of Czech Bastard Kitts was born in the castle Klenov� u Klatov. From twelve years he worked as a page at yard of the future emperor, when Archduke, Ferdinand of Tyrol & nbsp; Innsbruck. The breadth of his education was admirable: mastered several languages, very well-versed in & nbsp; history and geography, honed in music, fine arts and social sciences.

Do �ech Krystof Harant returned in & nbsp; 1584 and Four years later he married & nbsp; Eva Cerninova of & nbsp; Chudenic. War experience gathered in the wars with & nbsp; the Turks & nbsp; between 1593 and 1597.

When his wife in & nbsp; 1597 dies, leaves raising their two children, relatives Lidmila Markvartov� of & nbsp; Hr�dku and brother in law Herman Czernin embarks on an epic adventure to & nbsp; the Holy Sepulchre in Palestine. The way in which they both came to Egypt, described in the & nbsp; work Hike or way of & nbsp; the Kingdom of Bohemia in Venice, thence by sea to Holy land of Judah and in Egypt . After returning Krystof Harant joined the emperor's court Rudolf II., Of which several times unsuccessfully sought earlier. At the same time promoted to the nobility. In the same period, but met him personally tragedy when he died two children. & nbsp;

From 1601, he worked as a court-council and the Emperor valet. After the death of Rudolf II. retired from the court of his successor Marty�e Habsburg and retreated to Castle Stone, where he studied musical composition. In his time, he was Harant respected composer and some of his compositions survived until today. V & nbsp; in 1618 he moved to & nbsp; Protestantism and actively joined the uprising of the Czech state. As commander of the artillery in & nbsp; Thurn Army participated in an unsuccessful campaign to Vienna and even take it with & nbsp; ten guns managed to attack the Imperial Palace. After losing the Battle of White Mountain Krystof Harant was captured Wallenstein section on his castle Peck transported to Prague. 1621 was one of twenty-seven Czech lords executed on the Old Town Square.
