Castle Czech Krumlov - one of the most central sights. Castle and Castle is located in the South Bohemian town of the same name. Since 1992 he is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
State Chateau and Castle Czech Krumlov is situated on the steep rocky massif in the south Vltava River flows from the north and stream Polenice. The original Gothic castle was founded in the late thirteenth century the Lords of Krumlov, who came from a powerful family Vtkovci. After Eggenbergs died Krumlov became masters of the Schwarzenberg family. In 1940 their property was confiscated by the Nazis after WWII Czech Krumlov passed into state ownership.
Since 1963 the Czech Krumlov urban conservation. In 1989 the castle area declared a national monument, and three years later was a historical part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
Czech Krumlov is one of the most visited places in the Czech Republic. With nearby Vltava River and its tradition of denudation forms a significant part of the visitors paddlers.
