The Celebration of Svantovit
The Celebration of Svantovit: When the gods are at war, it is the art of salvation - 1912
This image captures the harvest celebration in honor of the pagan god Svetovid. This celebration is held on the Baltic island of Rgen in his capital Arkona. Treasures filled the temple in the center of the celebration was a holy place, which was the destination of pilgrims in the eighth to tenth century AD. Arkona was later conquered by the Danish warriors. At the time of Mucha had Arkona mythical significance, namely proof symbolized the original Slavic glory. The temple is located on the left side of the background of the entire scene. The brightest figure among the pilgrims in the foreground, a mother with a child for whom the sun goes down. Top right shows the Viking god Thor with a pack of dogs, as a precursor to the sacking of Arkona. Top center Slavic warrior dies before Svetovid figure, which is obmotn linden leaves. Vertical blue-white bojovnkv current is the sword that takes God to protect the future of the Slavs. The importance of artistic endeavors as a reaction to the war is highlighted by three musicians in the center of the composition and also the person carver, who is comforted and inspired by his muse.

The Slav Epic
The cycle of twenty large paintings transferred memorial mints of precious metals.
Alfons Mucha wanted to capture the history of Slavs in the collection of images that would symbolize their way through the history. The idea of ??creating Epic toyed at the beginning of the 20th century, however, due to lack of funds had to postpone the idea. After marrying Mary Chytilova located in Chicago industrialist Charles R. Crane, who was willing to bear all costs associated with the creation of the Slav Epic. Mucha returned in 1910 to his native country, so he rented a part of the castle at Zbiroh and here formed the Slav Epic, which together took him 18 years of life.
completed by 1928, when it, along with Charles Crane handed Prague and for all Czechoslovak population.
