Sergey Ilyushin (30. 3. 1894 - 9. 2. 1977) - Russian aircraft designer. The founder of the famous Ilyushin design bureau. Already in II. World War II became famous battlefield aircraft IL-2 Sturmovik, which significantly affected the fighting on the Eastern Front. Name Ilyushin carries a number of military and transport aircraft, on which his design office later began to specialize.
Sergei V. Ilyushin was born in a peasant family in central Russia and from childhood was accustomed to hard work. At fifteen he got to work laborer at the airport and aircraft him immediately captivated. As a pilot in the air, first made in the 1917 war and the airport remained even after the end of the world conflict. In 1921 he joined the Moscow Aviation Institute, who successfully completed five years later and soon became a member of the scientific committee of the Air Force. Even as an aircraft designer, then in 1933 he founded the SV Ilyushin Aviation Complex (Kompleks Aviacionnyj imeni SV Ilyushin). Its design office get considerably more attention in 1936, when was the prototype aircraft CKB-26, with whom he broke several world records. The aircraft was later developed into a powerful remote bomber IL-4. During World War II he became a legend in battle machine Il-2 Sturmovik, which is due to the massive firepower and armor nicknamed flying tank. The construction of military aircraft resumed his office after the war. Twin-engine jet bomber Il-28, as well as legendary Sturmovik, had in its arsenal and the Czechoslovak Army (fighter modernized Il-10 is manufactured under license in Czechoslovakia).
