Vartenbergs - an important Czech noble family. He was one of the branches of the North Bohemian dynasty Markvatice. Boom reached Vartenbergs especially in the 14th and 15th centuries, when he held a number of important state functions and possess considerable property. The family died out in the mid-seventeenth century.
Vartenbergs received its name from the castle Wartenberg (also known as the Czech Guard), who erected either Markvart of March, or his son Bene.
