Infant Jesus of Prague hotels A lovely statue of baby Jesus, subject to respect people in the church Our Lady Victorious in Prague's Lesser Town, receives daily visitors from dozens of countries. People here ask for help, healing, peace, some confidently expecting a baby, and many return, to thank. Sweet baby Jesus face attracts with its beauty. Rightists baby blessing, while his left hand holding a globe topped Cross - our whole world rests in his hands.
The Jesus of Prague comes from Spain. Legend tells us that
Baby Jesus miraculously a certain monk, who, according to his likeness
modeled the statue. According to another legend owned holy statue
Teresa of Jesus, the founder of the Discalced Carmelites. He was
miraculous healings attributed to among others the rescue in Prague
siege by the Swedes in 1639. In 1651 the statue was worn as a pilgrim
after Prague churches and 1655
solemnly crowned Prague bishop. Today commemorate this event
Annual festival, falling on the last Sunday in May.
The statue is 47 cm high wooden s & nbsp; modeled surface
from & nbsp; colored wax. It represents a small child, dressed in & nbsp; long
chemise, from which peep bare feet.
Little Santa Claus has the right hand raised in benediction, in the left reverse
palm up holding the symbol to rule the world - the orb (sphere)
topped by a cross. The palm has a hole in the middle, into which an apple
attached. The statue had been in the past, decorated with tiny jewels that
came from donations of the faithful. The most valuable jewel was lost today
copies of the Golden Fleece.
The crown, which currently adorns the Infant Jesus, was produced in
between 1810 and 1820. In addition to this crown is still one of the Infant Jesus
1767. Both come from the workshops of Prague goldsmiths. The crown
paired directly on the statue is mounted separately just above
Infant Jesus.
