Mika Hakkinen to put motorsport at the age of six years old when he began to ride go-karts. In the category of karting later became a five-time champion of Finland. In 1987 he starred in the junior Formula Ford: the very first season of its existence won the title of master Scandinavia.
Debut in Formula 1 have snubbed at the wheel of Lotus in 1991. A year later, he arrived at the Hungaroring on a promising 4th place and the 1993 Japanese Grand Prix he won the silver medal. That drove for McLaren, with the single seaters in the 1994 season, he won another five bronze medals and one silver (Belgium GP). The first F1 race win at the GP of Europe in 1997.
The peak period "Flying Finn" experienced in the seasons 1998 and 1999, when after a series of victories became a twice world champion. In individual races proven winners continue, although a performance of his McLaren lagged behind competitors Ferrari and wrestled with the technical shortcomings. Pilot F1 career ended in 2001, but continued to participate in various motor racing.
