Mint county Kladskho
Glatz, which is today part of the Republic of Poland, represented in the territorial division of the state special exception. Original Kladsk region is left Czech King George of Podebrady in 1459 to elevate their sons to specific counties. Although the county Kladsky remained even after 1459, part of the Kingdom of Bohemia, but its holders possess special privileges, which included the right minting its own coins. Medieval holders Kladska only minted coins, whose circulation was lawful in most cases limited to the county itself; elsewhere in the Czech Republic or in neighboring Silesia did not receive one.
A fundamental change in the form of coins Klodzko brought to the forties of the 16th century. Indebted to King Ferdinand I. to Czech nobility in different ways necessitated high cash loans. One of these activities was the arrest Counties Snieznik Czech nobleman Jan from Pertejna. He was late thirties of the 16th century richest aristocrat in the Czech lands and ruled large estates.
In 1537 he agreed with King Ferdinand I. on large cash loan, which, however, should be only temporary (six years) and should be guaranteed the right county Kladsk. During the pledge belonged to John of Perntejna the right of coinage, which is still some years pleaded with previous holders. Minting their own coins and in Klodzko launched in 1540.
For Jana from Perntejna, who stood at the beginning of the forties of the 16th century as a political leader of a Lutheran Czech opposition, the production of these coins was undoubtedly of great importance representative. A relatively large number of dies used (especially silver thaler) and the fact that these coins were known even in contemporary business manuals suggest, however, that the coin business Jana from Perntejna during the early years of economic importance. Even today, however, is clear evidence of the sources from which actually originated precious metal (especially silver), treated early forties of the 16th century in Kladsky Mint in large quantities.
Kladska pledge was originally to be paid in 1543. Therefore, the majority of Klodzko coins Jana Perntejna comes from the years 1540-1542. Although King Ferdinand I. aforementioned pledge unilaterally extended after 1543 to Jan of Perntejn (+1548) got into economic problems. Apparently also lost access to cheap silver, which was also reflected in a significant reduction in the intensity of his coins. Land
Kladska coins from Jana Perntejna are exceptional as its high level of performance that is consistent, and complete nominlovou range, starting from small cents to silver thaler and gold ducats. The replica is one of Europe's most tolar coins first half of the 16th century. Specifically, based on the original coin with the year 1542. In this form, the coins minted (using many variations of punches) in the years 1540-1544.
