Karel Valdauf (25. 10. 1913 - 4. 7. 1982) - composer and musician, one of the most prominent Czech brass.
Karel Valdauf was born into a musical family in Trhov Sviny. Violin lessons from ten years, twelve already featured in his grandfather's band. In 1928 he began studying at the Military School of Music, and two years later he joined a military band. Karel Valdauf was a multi-instrumentalist who managed violin as good as saxophone, accordion or guitar. In the war in 1942 he founded the Salon Orchestra, who performed under the auspices of a civilian criminal police. The greatest glory then reaped the string orchestra Karla Valdauf and especially brass music Valdaufinkou . Karel Valdauf in musical arts studied further and in 1954 passed the state examination of the orchestra and choir.
Many of his songs, among them the polka Under one roof, , Beznick or Berounsk in his time became hits. Total wrote one hundred and fifty songs, whether swift and energetic polkas and waltzes romantically captivating. Birthplace of Charles Valdauf in Trhov Sviny now serves as a museum in his honor on organizing an annual brass band festival.
