Ji Marek (30. 5. 1914 - 10. 12 1994) - Czech novelist, journalist, film and television screenwriter. He was also a university professor and the Director General of the Czechoslovak state film. The plots of his films and performances are often set in Criminology environment. Among the best known include series Panoptikum Town.
Ji Marek was born shortly before the outbreak of the first World War II in Prague. Under the original German-sounding surname Puchwein stopped publishing in 1937. Pseudonym Marek later adopted also in civic life. After graduating Folosofick Faculty of Charles University (specialization in Czech and German) by the end of the war he worked as a teacher at several schools. After 1945, he worked in newsrooms People newspaper, Red rights and World magazine Soviets. In 1954 he became the Director General of the Czechoslovak state film, five years later he was replaced by Alois Poledk and Marek became a college professor.
The author is known for novels and short stories of wartime and postwar building socialism, which as a communist believed. Do Czechoslovak also created history as the author of television, film and radio scripts. Besides crime he did not avoid the topic sci-fi genre. General knowledge is still enjoying Kriminalrat Vactko, who plays the great Czech actor Jaroslav Marvan.
Ji Marek also wrote books for children. The first, Merry tales upside down , already published in 1947. It is also known publications Autopohdky , under which released a self-titled album Chinaski. The audio transcript was provided by the band members together with Lucie Bila and Jiri Labus in 2004.
