Jedlicka Institute - governmental organization focused on educational and social services for disabled young people. It was founded in 1913 and is the oldest facility of its kind in the Czech Republic. Jedlicka institute located in Prague's Vinohrady.
The founder of the institute was a Czech physician Rudolf Jedlicka, who was born February 20, 1869 in Lysa nad Labem. He was an excellent surgeon and the first Czech promoter of the use of X rays in the diagnosis and direct treatment. At the same time he was a patron and an altruist who own funds partially funded the construction of modern Prague sanatoria. Also contributed significantly to the Association for treatment and education rachitik and cripples, of which he became chairman in 1911, and which marked the emergence of Jedlicka Institute in Prague's Vinohrady. It commenced operations April 1, 1913 and November of the same year bears the name of its founder.
