Castle K�ivokl�t - originally a hunting castle of Czech rulers. Located on the territory of the same township, about 13 kilometers from Rakovn�ka. K�ivokl�t its historical importance is a gem among Czech castles. Have at it, for example V�clav I., Ottokar II., Elizabeth of Bohemia, Charles IV. or V�clav IV.

K�ivokl�t in the first half of the thirteenth century built on the site of an older castle, which demonstrates the existence of written notice from the year 1190. From the beginning of construction are still visible influences of Romanesque, later Gothic style prevailed completely.

Significant changes occurred in the reign of Przemysl II. Otakar that castle transformed into a magnificent royal residence. In the continued cultivation of his son Wenceslas II. The dominant feature of the castle consists of a massive cylindrical Gothic tower with a height of 42 meters. Once stately mansion at the time already wasted away, the miserable state signed by fires, the last of which nipped in 1826. The first reconstruction of the castle was finished after more than half a century (1880). Other repairs occurred after 1929, when Max Egon F�rstenberk sold K�ivokl�t Czechoslovak state. The castle is a gem, dokladuj�c�m richness and diversity of Czech history. Its library contains at fifty-two thousand volumes.
