ABOUT Hebrejský knihtisk v Praze - 500. let výročí Ag patina
The first printed Hebrew book in Central and Eastern Europe was established in Prague. It was a bunch of prayers for weekdays and Saturdays, so-called sidur, as they are called Jewish prayer books. Jewish printers complete it at the end of 1512 in the press room of the Old Town alderman, John Severin, Severin called as Kramar. Two years later he was in Prague next book Seder zmirot u-Birkat ha-Mazon (Agenda Sabbath songs and blessing after meals). Slender volume is illustrated with hand-colored woodcuts and exists as a single specimen.
