Gustav Klimt hotels
(July 14, 1862 Baumgarten, near Vienna - February 6, 1918) was
Austrian painter.
Ernst Klimt's father, a goldsmith and engraver from Travice u
Litomic [1], prepared his sons for gold occupation, but Gustav
drawing showed a great talent and fourteen successfully
passed the entrance exam for Kunstgewerbeschule, Vienna
art school. At the same time he studied painting in the studio
Ferdinand Laufberger and after his death continued with Professor
Berger. In 1877 he began studying at the same school as his brother Ernst
and it was the beginning of their cooperation. The brothers have Klimtov
along with his fellow student Franz Matsch open in
1883 Vienna artistic decorator's studio. Often, the two brothers
Klimtov i Matsch cooperate example of the renowned
architectural studio Fellner and Helmer - thanks to participate
even the decoration of the theater in Carlsbad or in Jablonec nad
Nisou.
In 1887, Klimt was commissioned to create an image representing
Interior Imperial Theatre, for which he got the imperial awards. To
the end of 1892, the artist's father died, and shortly after younger
brother Ernst.
Project ceiling paintings in the hall of Vienna University who
introduced Klimt and Matsch, receives jury in 1894. Klimt,
Joseph Maria Olbrich and Josef Hoffmann, along with several other
artists founded in 1897 secession. In the same year Klimt's painting
first landscape painting.
In 1898, the artist realizes poster for the first Secession exhibition and participate
the preparation of the magazine "Ver Sacrum". In a passionate polemic about image
designated for the University of Vienna, Klimt 1900 zealously prevent
Franz Wichkoff. The image is given a gold medal at the World Exhibition in
Paris. 1905 Klimt buys from the state for all images
university, leaving secession and founded a new group - Kunstschau. To
IX. Venice Biennale in 1910 met with great success. V
1911 won first prize in Rome for life and death. 1917 was
honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and in
Munich. As a result of a brain hemorrhage died on February 6, 1918 at the age of
56 years.
