Cyprian Karasek of Lvovic (8. 7. 1514-1574) - Czech astronomer, mathematician and educator. As a professor and researcher worked mainly abroad, where he published his works written in Latin. The best known are astronomical treatise Ephemeridum novelty atque insigne opus.
Cyprian Karasek was born in Hradec Krlov in a family of city council and Mayor later. The first was educated in his native city, and later studied in Wroclaw and Leipzig.
