Biatec - Celtic silver coins minted in the mid-first century BC in what is now Bratislava. It was named after the Latin inscription Biatec said in sterling field. According to a widespread assumption it was the name of the ruler or warrior Celtic tribe struggles that are right on the territory of today's Bratislava settled. Coins are also known as type hexadrachny Bratislava, because of the resemblance with the Greek originals.
The first recorded message about finding coins Biatec in Bratislava (then Pressburg) dates from 1776. There were, for example, at the site of today's streets Czechoslovakia, Michalska, Jesenskho or in part Petrzalka. The amount of these coins originated in the treasure that was discovered in 2009 during the reconstruction of Bratislava Castle.
More than one hundred and twenty coins come from nearby Jarovce.
Outside the capital of Slovakia Biatec were also found in Trnava, in Pezinku, Malackch, in Stupava, Vajnory, or, for example, or in Senec Devin. Many coins Biatec also comes from sites in Austria.
