Wroclaw I. (888 - 13 February 921) - Czech prince of the dynasty Pemyslovc, father of St. Wenceslas. Reigned from 915 until his death in 921. His parents were Boivoj I. and Ludmila from the dog, later known as Saint Ludmila.
Prince Vratislav I was the second ruler of the Czech Pemyslide princely See. He stood at the foundation of the church of St. George at Prague Castle. He was married with Drahomra, with whom he had three sons: Vaclav Boleslav and Spytihnev's. The names of the daughters, who were probably four, survived. Period Vratislav government is symptomatic of the fight with the Hungarians, who had already smashed Great Moravia. According to an old Hungarian chronicle Gesta Hungarorum, Vratislav I. died just at the time one of the Hungarian invasion of Moravia and Bohemia. He was buried in the Basilica of St George at Prague Castle. About Vratislav I have survived relatively little information, rumors characterize him as a good Christian and a capable ruler who managed to repel the attacks on its territory. Do also created history as the father of the legendary St. Wenceslas.
