Jan Perner (7. 9. 1815 - 10. 9. 1845) - Czech designer and builder of railroad tracks. Chief Engineer during construction steam tramway between Olomouc and Prague.
Jan Perner came from an ancient family of the Elbe millers and mill in & nbsp; the village Bratice u slavi he was born (at the mill a place still stands). Originally, he had to follow the tradition of his ancestors, John's but the rod to & nbsp; modern technology, and after studying at the Tnsk school, to & nbsp; displeasure parents went to Prague technical college. Curiously, the founder and director of the school was Franz Josef Gerstner, whose son Frantiek Antonn Perner later worked on construction iron tracks in & nbsp; Russia (1836 track Petersburg - Tsarskoe Selo). Yet before leaving for the East along with & nbsp; other young engineers undertook a study trip to England and Belgium. After early retirement from & nbsp; Russia, where the same as additional staff has settled with & nbsp; authoritarian Gerstner, joined by first June 1837 for the construction of Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway.
By the summer of 1839 he participated in the construction section of Beclavi Brno. Then witnessed during the design work of the path between Ostrava and Auschwitz.
From 1840 he worked under the guidance of designer Perner bridges Alois Negrelli, which the young and talented engineer liking. Maybe also because the & nbsp; was able to guess in advance and calculate that future railway route will be the best in all directions.
& nbsp; 1842 Perner became chief engineer of the State track and took over leadership of the trace section. On the route between Vienna and Prague pushed variant path that leads through Olomouc and Polabm. His project & nbsp; six other competitors won a structure into which subsequently engage thousands of workers could begin. When August 20, 1846 & nbsp; 6: 20 am went from & nbsp; Olomouckho station locomotive-hauled trains with & nbsp; the name of Bohemia and driven Jan Perner, it was an event of national importance.
He Perner was regarded as a great patriot and interested in Czech theater and literature and was active in Unity ku encourage industry in the Czech Republic .
Jan Perner died of his injuries, which September 9 being caused while riding the train. After leaving the & nbsp; Choce tunnel descended on the ladder wagon, apparently to prohldnul tunnel portal and was immediately struck a pillar at the gate railway station. Injuries succumbed the next day.
Name Jan Perner Transport Faculty today bears University of Pardubice and reminds him also one of the & nbsp; expresses Czech Railways which was named after him. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
