Czechoslovak National Bank (NBCS) - the first Czechoslovak Republic a few years after World War II, she worked as the central bank of the state.
Czechoslovak National Bank started operations on April 1, 1926. Previously, currency management ensured Bank Office of the Ministry of Finance. During the German occupation (1939 - 1945) bore the name of the financial institution National Bank of Bohemia and Moravia. In 1950 the law changed to NBCS Czechoslovak State Bank.
The successor institution is the Czech National Bank (CNB), which has the monopoly right to issue circulating coins and banknotes and is also the issuer of commemorative coins. The supreme body is the Board headed by the governor.
CNB was established in 1993 under the Constitution of the Czech Republic. The statute defines Act no. 6/1993 Coll., On the Czech National Bank and other legislation.
